Confirmation and payment terms

We require a deposit of at least 10% of the total event cost to secure your preferred date in our diary. The deposit is non-refundable and non – transferable. We accept cash or cheques payable to Dinner By Design Ltd or a money transfer to the Dinner By Design Ltd bank account. Cheques must clear before we can confirm your booking.

Six weeks prior to your Event we will invoice you for the remaining amount of your full booking fee.
This must be paid in full four weeks prior to your event day.
Two weeks prior to your Event all remaining amendments must be paid for.


Bookings will be confirmed after the deposit has been received, once a deposit has been paid, a contract is deemed to exist between you and Dinner By Design Ltd. This contract shall be governed by all aspects of British law. It can be modified by Dinner By Design Ltd by a supplementary letter in writing. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before entering into the agreement, and please contact us if there is anything that you do not understand or if there are any points you wish us to clarify.


In the unlikely event that you have to cancel your booking Dinner By Design Ltd will charge you for a percentage of the total anticipated costs as follows:


Up to six months in advance 35% of the cost will be charged (holding deposit included).
3-6 months in advance 50 % of the cost will be charged
1-3 months in advance 70 % of the cost will be charged
Less than one month 90% of the cost will be charged
7 days in advance 100% of the cost will be charged.

Bar Hire:

The bar hire depsoit is non refundable unless the bar spend exceeds £1,200 on the day of your event.


You are responsible for any damage caused to any part of Dinner By Design Ltd property, default or neglect of the client, subcontractor, guest, employee or attendant and shall pay to Dinner By Design Ltd on demand the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage and for any loss of business as a result. A damages deposit of £100 must be paid no later than four weeks before the event. It must also be shown that you have taken out event insurance which covers damage to any part of Dinner By Design Ltd property, and a copy of this is to be provided. Your deposit will be returned to you a week after your event providing no damage has occurred. If there has been damage the cost of repair will be taken from your damages deposit and we will provide you with a copy of the bill for the cost of that repair. If you do not provide proof of event insurance that covers you for damage to the property a damages deposit of £250 must be paid no later than four weeks before the event. If you are not covered by insurance and damage caused is in excess of £250 you agree to pay Dinner By Design Ltd the extra amount on demand. You agree that if you have taken out wedding insurance you will claim on your insurance for the cost of significant repairs. Anyone causing wilful damage will be asked to leave.

Responsible point of contact

We ask you to appoint one person for your event to be our appointed contact during the event. Dangerous, offensive or inappropriate behaviour will be reported to the person responsible and a decision will be made at the discretion of Dinner By Design Ltd as to whether to ask the offending guest to leave or if there are further problems stop the whole event and ask everyone to leave. No refund will be given.

Price variation

Dinner By Design Ltd reserves the right without warning to increase prices in the event of circumstances beyond its control, e.g. increases in alcohol duty in the Chancellor’s Budget.

Force Majeure

If Dinner By Design Ltd is limited or hindered from hosting the event or providing any facility booked by you due to circumstances beyond its control e.g. government intervention, acts of God, civil disturbance, war, national or local disaster, strikes, labour disputes or a licensing issue, then the liability of Dinner By Design to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Dinner By Design Ltd in respect of the event.
